What Is It? How does it work? Why Does It Work So Well?SnorBan is known in the medical profession as a Mandibular Advancement Device. These were recently the subject of medical trials the results of which were made known at a lecture at the Royal Society of Medicine on 18 Feb 2002 under the heading ‘Treatment Options for Snoring’. The doctors also tested nasal strips, sprays, herbal pillows, gargles, etc. but found none of these fulfilled their promise of easing the condition. The only product on the market that was found to alleviate snoring (apart from an expensive CPAP machines) were Mandibular Advancement Devices . As a result, sleep clinics, dentists, sleep clinicians and doctors specializing in sleep problems were strongly advised to use them.
The principle behind the SnorBan mouthpiece is so simple. It is designed to stop snoring therby increasing your oxygen intake. To understand how it works try this. Push your lower jaw slightly forward and try to make the snoring sound, you will find you open the passage to the airway and you do not snore. Patients are now referred to use the SnorBan Mouthpiece from many of the NHS sleep clinics. |
