SLEEP DEPRIVATION - A REAL HAZARD TO YOUR HEALTH
We all know snoring is a bit of a laugh and the snorer is the butt of many a joke, but it is no joke if you have to live with it. Each and every night you need about 7 to 8 hours of undisturbed sleep to enable your mind and body to restore themselves. You need to wake refreshed and renewed in the morning to cope with the next day's problems. It is estimated that around 60 million adults in the US habitually snore. Though it occurs in both sexes it is twice as common among men than in women. As we age we start to snore as we put on weight. Please remember it is not just the snorer who suffers, for his or her partner will too. You will both suffer sleep deprivation and be subject to its associated problems, waking in the morning as tired as when you went to bed. Fatigue and exhaustion make you irritable, short tempered and unapproachable. It causes strain with all involved, leading to arguments - some of which can become so protracted that they can eventually end in divorce. Snoring now tops the list of Reasons for Divorce under 'Unreasonable Behavior' If the lack of sleep becomes more prolonged some sufferers will find themselves falling asleep even when eating, or over the sink, or in conversation. Worse, much worse, are those who fall asleep whilst driving. Sleep deprivation can effect your love life, your marriage, your family, your job, your business and even your very life.
