While the SnorBan mouthpiece is designed to cure snoring, the FDA will not allow us to make the claim it is a cure for sleep apnea, which is a medical condition. Should you suffer from this complaint then you should consult your doctor.
The SnorBan anti-snoring mouthpiece is approved for sale in Europe under the European Union seal of approval without a doctor’s prescription.
While we don’t claim to cure sleep apnea, many people have found relief from it as an additional benefit of eliminating snoring with the SnorBan anti-snoring mouthpiece.
Sleep apnea associated with snoring is a very dangerous health condition. Because the SnorBan mouthpiece works well on so many people to eliminate or reduce the effects of apnea, the FDA wants you to know if you have it before using any device to relieve your symptoms of snoring.
The method to determine if you have apnea is to do an overnight sleep test in a sleep disorder lab. After you have completed your test and you have been diagnosed with apnea then the doctor prescribes one of several methods to cure it. One is a mandibular advancement device (MAD) such as the SnorBan anti-snoring mouthpiece.
Another is a continuous positive airway pressure device (CPAP). It is a mask much like a gas mask and it is connected to an air pump that supplies air pressure to your mouth. This prevents your airway from collapsing while you sleep. It is very difficult to get used to it and most people don’t like to use it.
The process to get the SnorBan mouthpiece approved for availability through a prescription is a very time consuming and costly process. This would cause the price of a SnorBan mouthpiece to skyrocket and then it would not be affordable to very many people.
Many others are selling imitations of the original SnorBan® mouthpiece in violation of the FDA regulations and are not FDA approved. Beware of the “FDA Cleared” nomenclature, as it should not be confused with “FDA approval”.
Since the SnorBan mouthpiece also works very well as a sports mouthpiece we have decided to only sell our anti-snoring mouthpiece in the U.S. as a SnorBan brand sports mouthpiece.
Some users tell us they even use it while they sleep because they dream they are boxers.

While we have not had any claims made against us in all the many years we have been producing the mouthpiece, you are using it at your own risk.
